Overview

The Offline Point of Sale (POS) app for Frappe and ERPNext provides a comprehensive solution for managing sales transactions in a retail environment with robust offline functionality. It supports seamless offline operation, automatic syncing when connectivity is restored, and direct receipt printing.

Features

  • Opening Balance Setup: Enter an opening balance to initiate the POS session.
  • Item Management: Add items, switch categories, search for products, and set customers.
  • Discounts and Price Adjustments: Apply discounts and change prices.
  • Offline Operation: Process transactions without an internet connection.
  • Order Sync: Sync orders with the server once internet connectivity is restored by clicking the WiFi icon in the header.
  • POS Closure: Close the POS session and enter a closing amount through a dialog box.
  • Receipt Printing: Print receipts with a preview and direct USB printing support (e.g., Epson printers).
  • Pricelist Integration: wokring with normal pricelists like item pricelist  

NOTE:     
 note work with pricing rules so please ignore pricing rules always  false  in pos profile during use offline pos

Configuration

Configure your POS settings through the Frappe/ERPNext interface:

  • First set pos category in item form view


  • Create and configure POS profiles.



Usage

  1. Create First POS Profile: Set up and configure your POS profiles through the dashboard.
  2. Access POS: Click on the POS app from the dashboard.
  3. Select POS Profile: Choose a POS profile to use.
  4. Enter Opening Balance: Input the opening balance through the popup to start the POS session.
  5. Process Transactions: Add items to the cart, switch categories, search for products, and set customers.
  6. Apply Discounts and Adjust Prices: Use available options to modify prices and apply discounts.
  7. Offline Functionality: Continue processing orders offline. Sync orders by clicking the WiFi icon when internet connectivity is restored.

  8. Print Receipts: Preview and print receipts directly to connected USB printers like Epson.
  9. Close POS: Click on 'Close POS' and enter the closing amount in the dialog box.

Pricing Rules

The POS app does not use pricing rules. It operates exclusively with pricelists. Pricing rules are always ignored and set to false during app usage.

Troubleshooting

  • Offline Issues: Ensure that transactions are properly saved offline and sync once connectivity is restored.
  • Printing Issues: Verify that the USB printer is correctly connected and configured.
