How to Manage Call for Tender in Odoo
In companies, it's common to receive offers from various vendors when looking to procure products. Traditionally, this involves receiving multiple offers, manually comparing prices, and then selecting the most favorable offer to proceed with the purchase. However, to make this entire process more efficient and error free, Odoo streamlines this process through its "Call for Tender'' feature.
With this functionality, users can effortlessly create multiple Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and send them to vendors.
Once the offers are received, users can easily compare alternatives on a product-by-product basis, enabling them to select the option with the most competitive pricing before finalizing the purchase.
This approach significantly streamlines the procurement process, making it more efficient and user-friendly.
Let us see how we can manage these Call for Tenders in Odoo:

Use-case: Call for Tender in Odoo
Let’s take one example of Ammy Ltd.. They want to purchase some products from different vendors. Let’s see how they can manage calls for tenders in Odoo.
For that Navigate to the purchase > configuration > settings > enable purchase agreements.
Now going to orders > create requests for quotation > under the Alternative tab > create alternatives as well as can link the existing RFQ.
By clicking on the create alternative button we can create an alternative and compare product lines.
We can select a vendor and the copy products checkbox can be checked if we want the same products purchased from another vendor. This is how we can create alternatives as we want and they can be shown under the alternatives tab.
Now we can click on compare product lines and we can have pricing based on per product line.
The product price which is lesser in comparison with another vendor will show in green colour and we can click on choose button. After clicking on choose for the other prices the choose option will be disappeared.
And then we can confirm the related purchase order with the lowest price. When we confirm the related request for quotation the system will ask us to cancel the alternatives or keep the alternative- we can either keep or cancel the alternatives.
If we click on the cancel the alternative, all the alternatives will be cancelled. While clicking on “keep the alternatives”, we can keep other requests for quotation. This is how in Odoo we can manage the call for tender.
