How To Manage Multi-Company Transfer In Odoo17
Nowadays handling multiple companies in ERPs is such a challenging task. Odoo allows users to manage multiple companies seamlessly with effective data management, and security as well as without any data discrepancy.
Odoo allows users to synchronize their invoices, bills, sales order as well as a purchase order. With the feature of synchronizing sale orders/purchase orders, we can do multi-company transfers.
Let’s see how we can proceed with the multi-company transfers:
To do so, navigate to general settings > enable the option “inter-company transaction” > we can select the option to synchronize sales order/purchase order. (make sure to enable this feature in both the companies)
Here, we have multiple options , if we do not want to synchronize anything then we can select “do not synchronize”, if we want to synchronize invoices/bills only so we can select the option “synchronize invoices/bills”, to synchronize sales orders only we can select “synchronize sales order”, to synchronize purchase orders we can select “synchronize purchase orders”, and to synchronize both select “synchronize sales and purchase orders”.
In the “create as” field, any internal user can be defined. We can also define a warehouse to be used. After that there are two checkboxes about “automatic validation” and “copy lots on delivery order”.
“Automatic validation” option is for the confirmation of orders, if this option is ticket related purchase or sales order would be auto confirmed. “Copy lots on delivery order” option is when there is a delivery order that contains products that are tracked by lots. And those lots would be copied from related order.
Next, to do a multi company transfer make sure to create a sales order/purchase order related to the transfer you want to do with that company name as a customer or vendor. As in Odoo inter-warehouse transfer can be done through creating internal transfers but to do multi company transfer it is mandatory to create sales orders/purchase orders.
