Kitchen Display Application in Odoo v17
In Odoo 17, a new module has been introduced for the POS (Point of Sale) restaurants and bars, featuring a kitchen display system. With this update, users can now access a dedicated preparation display directly from the POS application. This display provides an overview of all restaurant orders at various stages, enabling users to monitor the progress of each order.
Additionally, users have the capability to view both the preparation display and customer display directly from the POS application, enhancing the overall efficiency and management of restaurant operations.
Let’s see how Kitchen Display application looks like in the Odoo 17:
On the dashboard view of this application, we have the display for the stages of the food orders as “to cook”, ready or “completed”, number of “in progress” orders, “average time”, and option to "open preparation display" and "customer display".
We can configure the kitchen display, besides the stages showing in the display, we can configure different stages for the kitchen display, add specific categories and define multiple restaurants and bars.
While opening a preparation display, we can see orders based on different stages showing dishes to be cooked. Once the dish is cooked, the cook can just click on that dish name, and it will be grey coloured. Once the whole order is cooked it will be moved to the ready stage.
From the ready stage when the dishes are ready to serve one can click on each dish name or whole order, and it will be gone to the completed stage.
We have a recall button, that helps us to get back the previous order that we unintentionally moved to another stage.
In the last stage- completed, we can reset the order as well as delete the orders, by resetting the order, order will be in the cook stage and the cook can proceed with it and to delete the completed orders we can click on delete all or delete it individually.
In the open customer display, we can see the ready orders and orders that are almost there. Customers can have an overview about the placed orders.
