It encourages customers to buy more products than actual by mentioning specific quantities to buy and then they can get a specific number of units free.

By clicking on the create a rule we can create new promotional schemes, and related details can be filled. Let us discuss in brief the details that we can define.


● First we need to add a title for a promotional scheme

Apply on: We can apply on item code, item group, item brand, brand or transaction, by selecting item code, group or brand we can specify any particular item, group or code to be affected, while in transactions it will apply on the total amount of transactions.

Party Information: under the party information we can select whether the promotional scheme will apply for selling and buying and can also define applicable for specific customers, customer groups, territory, sales partner, campaign, supplier, supplier group.

Price Discount Slabs: Here, we can define price discount slabs, by defining minimum quantity, maximum quantity, minimum amount, maximum amount, and discount type whether it would be rate, discount percentage and discount amount.

Product Discount Slabs: under this, we can specify Minimum qty, maximum qty, min amount, max amount and by clicking on the pen icon (edit) we can specify the number of quantities of the free product.

Period Settings: under the period setting, we can define specific validity for the promotional scheme to be applied and company and currency.

Mixed Conditions: mixed conditions refers to the case where we select more items and set the min and max quantities. The promotional scheme will be applied if the total sum of items matches the total quantities.

Is Cumulative: by enabling this, the promotional schemes can be applied cumulatively. Basically when a specific amount crosses the promotional scheme will be applied on that.

● First, Navigate to selling > items and pricing > promotional scheme and create a promotional scheme.

In the Product Discount Slabs tab, set the minimum and maximum quantity parameters for promotional schemes. For example, you can define a range such as a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 5. Additionally, multiple rules can be added within this tab to further customize the promotional offerings.

By clicking on the edit button we can define rule description and details about free items. We can tick “if save” checkbox if we want to give the free product same as customer purchased a product earlier, if not we can specify item we want to give as a free product, quantity, unit of measurement, rate, any warehouse and priority for the rule as well for it.

During the creation of sales orders and invoices, promotional schemes will be applied based on the quantity of items purchased by a customer.

In the promotional scheme, it has been specified that for a quantity ranging from 6 to 10 units, the customer will receive 2 units of the free product. Consequently, when creating a sales order, if 6 units of books are added, 2 additional units will be included as part of the promotional scheme.
