Odoo POS Pizza Modifiers Module
Odoo is one of the most user-friendly ERP software. They are always working on making it more and more adaptive and user friendly with each update. The market reach of Odoo has also expanded a lot in the last few years since its first version came out in 2005.
The thought process behind maintaining this Odoo ERP is purely based on ease of use and customer satisfaction. So, with every new release, we see a lot of improvements and new features. There are a lot of modules present in Odoo, such as CRM, Sales, Accounting, HR, etc. One of such useful business modules provided by Odoo is its POS or Point of Sales Module.
Odoo’s POS allows you to manage the shop and sales process without any difficulties and confusion. A typical POS system is a combination of POS hardware and POS software to create a POS point for processing the transactions.

(a) Create Modifiers and add them to your Restaurant Foods.
(b) Configure those Modifiers according to Different Sizes.
(c) Add Side Products to your Main Products (for Example, Cold Drinks along with Burger, Pizzas).
There are many other useful features along with these features, but one of the most important and standout feature is the option to customize your Pizza based on different quarters of your pizza.
That means you can simply add modifiers for your whole pizza or add different modifiers for your pizza’s different sides. This is one of the most useful and must-have features for your POS system to provide the best services to your customers.
Let us see how Odoo POS Pizza Modifiers module works:-
First of all, we’ll start with configuring modifiers for our system. Modifiers are nothing but additional items that we can add to our POS products for customization.
For example, if we want some specific toppings on our pizza or an extra cheese slice in our burger. We can add these modifiers to our products and make them available to the customers for selections based on their preferences.
Navigate to POS > Products> Modifiers
Here we can create Modifiers as a product. Enter the name of the modifier; for example, in this case, we are using Cheese.
Now, let us suppose we want to provide two different options for adding Cheese as a modifier. First is the extra cheese, and the second is the Cheese Burst. So, we can create two variants of this Cheese Modifier.
Similarly, we can add toppings as a modifier with different options such as capsicum, corn, tomato, onion, etc.
After we are done creating modifiers, we also have the option to add the modifiers to a Modifier group. This will help us in adding the modifiers directly to the product as a group.
Navigate to POS>Products>Modifiers Groups
For example, in this case, we’ll add the cheese and toppings to a group named PIZZA toppings.
Now after this, we’ll Configure our main product or, in this case PIZZA.
Here we’ll create a new product, i.e., PIZZA.
Navigate to POS>Product
➢ Enter the Name
➢ Enable ‘Is Modifier Product’? (This will provide us the option to add modifiers to the product.)
➢ Enable ‘Display Pieces’? ( This will provide us the option to display different sizes of this Pizza for customization. So that we can choose if we want to customize the full pizza or a particular section of our pizza.)
➢ Now we’ll add different sizes for our pizza, i.e., Regular, Medium, Large. We can add as many variants as we want.
➢ Now we’ll add modifiers to this Pizza. We can do so by adding the modifiers directly to the modifiers tab. Or we can add the modifiers groups and click on ‘Get Modifier’. This will automatically add all the modifiers from this group to our Pizza. We can add as many modifiers to the pizza as we want.
➢ Next, we can add Sides products to our pizza so that customers can select some particular products along with the Pizza.
In this case, we’ll add soft drinks and tea/coffee as side products that can be ordered along with the Pizza.
We are done with the customization, and now we’ll navigate to the POS to see how we can make our orders.
Let us start the POS session and add a Pizza product.
When we select the Pizza product, a popup will open. Here we can choose the size of the Pizza that we want. In this case, we choose a Medium Size pizza.
Now we’ll see the option to decide whether we want to customize the whole portion of our Pizza, or we want to customize the left and right part of our pizza separately or we want to customize all 4 quarters of our pizza separately.
In this case, we’ll customize the left and right part of the Pizza separately.
So first, we’ll select the left half by clicking on it.
After that, we’ll see all the modifiers that we added to our Pizza.
Now we’ll select what modifiers we want on the left side of the Pizza.
In this case, we have added Extra cheese, corn and tomato to the left half of our Pizza.
Now we’ll select the right half. We can simply move forward if we don’t want any modifier on the right half.
In this case, we have added Cheese burst and capsicum to the right half.
Now we are done with the customization, so we’ll move forward by clicking on Done.
Next, we have the option to add Sides to our Order.
Click on Add Sides, and all the side items for this product will be available here.
Now we can add as many side products as we want. In this case, we’ll add Pepsi and cold coffee. If we don’t want any side products, we can move on to the payment page.
Here we can select the payment method and make the payment.
Finally, our order is placed and we get a complete detailed receipt regarding the customization or modifiers we added to our Pizza.
Thus, we can easily manage the customization on our Pizza and other products with this very useful POS Pizza Modifier.
